وزیر خارجه آمریکا: برقراری رابطه با جمهوری اسلامی همچنان در دست بررسی است

کاندولیزا رایس، وزیر امور خارجه ایالات متحده آمریکا، می گوید دولت پرزیدنت بوش همچنان گشایش دفتر دیپلماتیک در ایران را در دست بررسی دارد.

رایس گزارش خبرگزاری آسوشیتد پرس مبنی بر اینکه دولت بوش تصمیم به واگذار کردن مساله به دولت بعدی گرفته است را رد کرد. وی به خبرنگاران گفت واشنگتن به بررسی این فکر ادامه می دهد.

رایس که به منظور انجام مذاکرات در مورد مسایل دیگری در حال پرواز از هند به قزاقستان بود ایده گشایش دفتر دیپلماتیک در تهران را جالب خواند. وی در این مورد توضیح بیشتری نداد.

آمریکا و جمهوری اسلامی در مورد برنامه اتمی تهران با یکدیگر اختلاف نظر دارند. جمهوری اسلامی تاکنون قطعنامه های سازمان ملل را، که در آنها خواسته شده دست از غنی سازی اورانیوم بردارد، نادیده گرفته است. تهران این موضوع را انکار می کند و می گوید تنها خواستار غنی سازی اورانیوم در حدی است که سوخت برای تولید انرژی اتمی تولید کند.

فرآیندی که لازمه غنی سازی سطح پایین اورانیوم برای تولید انرژی اتمی است همچنین می تواند مورد استفاده غنی سازی اورانیوم در سطح بالا بشود که در ساختن بمب اتمی نیز می تواند به کار رود.
